Brancati Island info

Thank you for purchasing the Souvenir of the "Isolotto Brancati" di Marzamemi, created by Andrea Gozzo in 2024.

On the small island located in front of the port of Marzamemi, a hamlet of Pachino, in the province of Syracuse, stands a charming villa owned by the heirs of the doctor Raffaele Brancati, cousin of the most famous Pachino poet and writer Vitaliano Brancati.  

Precisely in this villa, the writer and playwright Vitaliano Brancati stayed, finding inspiration for his wonderful works which still today represent the pillars on which Italian comedy and tragedy are based, as Leonardo Sciascia, another important Sicilian writer.  

Also called "Small Island", due to its small size, just enough to accommodate the villa, it can also be reached with a small boat.  

The burgundy red house is also equipped with a stone swimming pool and a small garden adorned with some shrubs.

A few rows from the house you reach the characteristic seaside village of Marzamemi, where you can taste Sicilian delicacies and walk along the seashore.  

The house essentially represents the dream of living on a desert island, surrounded by the Ionian Sea, enjoying peace and relaxation, as well as an enchanting setting and a unique view of Marzamemi.
